A bit of a refresher… Basics

According to Jeremiah, pretty much everything we’ve been taught by our churches has been false, and results in people following false, made-up gods.

Jeremiah 16:19-20
19 O Yehova, my strength and my fortress, My refuge in the day of affliction, The Gentiles shall come to You From the ends of the earth and say, “Surely our fathers have inherited lies, Worthlessness and unprofitable things.” 20 Will a man make gods for himself, Which are not gods?

Can we believe this? Check Jer 1:9 to see if Jeremiah is trustworthy:
9 Then Yehova stretched out His hand and touched my mouth and Yehova said to me, “Behold, I have put My words in your mouth.”

Here are a few examples of what the church tells us that we find to be untrue by reading our bibles:

1. Yehova says His instructions in Torah (the law) are for everyone, both the native born Hebrew and any the sojourners/strangers among them. If you read the Exodus story, you will see there were about 600,000 Hebrew men and their families, PLUS a very large mixed multitude of people from other nations. They all became Israel, and the instructions (the law) apply to all. The churches generally teach the law is only applicable to ancient Israel and Jews today, which is not what Yah says.

If we pay close attention to New Testament writings, we find this to be true still. One of many new testament verses supporting this:

Galatians 3 26 For you are all sons of Yehova through faith in Yeshua Messiah. 27 For as many of you as were baptized into Messiah have put on Messiah. 28 There is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither slave nor free, there is neither male nor female; for you are all one in Messiah Yeshua. 29 And if you are Messiah’s, then you are Abraham’s seed, and heirs according to the promise.

2. Yehova says His instructions (the law) are forever, a perpetual covenant, never ending, and for all generations (of both native born Hebrews and sojourners among them). Our churches teach that the law is done away with, is not for everyone, and is no longer applicable. Even Yeshua says He did not come to abolish the law, and that not a single pen stroke of it will ever change until heaven and earth pass away.
I could post miles of scripture here, many being direct quotes of Yeshua, but I’ll narrow it down to these examples:

John 14:15 “If you love Me, you will keep My commandments.”

John 14:21 He who has My commandments and keeps them is the one who loves Me.

John 15:10 If you keep My commandments, you will abide in My love, just as I have kept My Father’s commandments and abide in His love.

Matthew 7:21-23 21 “Not everyone who says to Me, ‘Lord, Lord!’ will enter the kingdom of heaven, but he who does the will of My Father in heaven. 22 Many will say to Me on that day, ‘Lord, Lord, didn’t we prophesy in Your name, and drive out demons in Your name, and perform many miracles in Your name?’ 23 Then I will declare to them, ‘I never knew you. Get away from Me, you workers of lawlessness!’”

1John 2:3-6 3 Now we know that we have come to know Him by this—if we keep His commandments. 4 The one who says, “I have come to know Him,” and does not keep His commandments is a liar, and the truth is not in him. 5 But whoever keeps His word, in him the love of God is truly made perfect. We know that we are in Him by this— 6 whoever claims to abide in Him must walk just as He walked.

Rev 22:14 14 Blessed are those who do His commandments, that they may have the right to the tree of life, and may enter through the gates into the city.

3. Yehova tells us His appointed times and biblical feast days in Leviticus 23. He tells us in Deut 12 and other places to NOT worship Him the way the pagans worship their gods. The church has rejected His appointed times and feast days in favor of Christmas, Easter, Halloween, Valentines Day, etc. In researching the origins of these holidays, none are found in scripture. They are made traditions of men, based on some information in scripture, but actually originate in pagan practices. Christmas was actually illegal in the US in placed until the late 1800’s because of its pagan origin. Jesus was not born in December. That date is picked by Constantine to coincide with Saturnalia, a Roman pagan festival. Easter is the English pronunciation of Ishtar, a goddess of fertility. We have an easter bunny because it ties to the fertility rituals of pagans, with the rabbit being a symbol of fertility. Easter eggs come from a pagan practice of child sacrifice. During spring festivals to Ishtar, babies were sacrificed and the blood was collected. Eggs were soaked in the blood to color them. Search as much as possible and Easter will not be found in scripture. Passover will be found though, which is God’s appointed time and feast day to observe. Halloween has even been adopted by churches, as they are conformed to the world instead of transforming their minds, as we are told to do in scripture.

Romans 12:2
And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of Yehova.

This is all very hard to accept. I know because I studied it and had to choose to accept or reject it. There is much more.
The doctrine that says Yehova’s everlasting instructions are not everlasting is developed from the writings of Paul. However, it requires us to ignore half of Paul’s writings, as he often upholds the Torah (the law) and the keeping of it. Peter warns us not to misunderstand Paul’s writings, but it has happened anyway.

2Peter 3:14-17 14 Therefore, beloved, looking forward to these things, be diligent to be found by Him in peace, without spot and blameless; 15 and consider that the longsuffering of our Lord is salvation—as also our beloved brother Paul, according to the wisdom given to him, has written to you, 16 as also in all his epistles, speaking in them of these things, in which are some things hard to understand, which untaught and unstable people twist to their own destruction, as they do also the rest of the Scriptures. 17 You therefore, beloved, since you know this beforehand, beware lest you also fall from your own steadfastness, being led away with the error of the wicked…

4. Typical church doctrine tells us that the law is a burden and a curse. Yehova says His instructions, the law, brings life and blessings. Even in the New Testament, we are told the law is not burdensome:
1John 5:3 By this we know that we love the children of Yehova, when we love Yehova and keep His commandments. 3 For this is the love of Yehova, that we keep His commandments. And His commandments are not burdensome.

Revelation 12:17 tells us who the remnant of the church is: And the dragon was enraged with the woman, and he went to make war with the rest of her offspring, who keep the commandments of Yehova and have the testimony of Yeshua Messiah.

Revelation 14:12 tells us who the saints are: Here is the patience of the saints; here are those who keep the commandments of Yehova and the faith of Yeshua.

In Rev 22:14 Yeshua tells us who will be allowed into His kingdom: Blessed are those who do His commandments, that they may have the right to the tree of life, and may enter through the gates into the city.
