Are you ready?
Here comes a controversial statement:
There is no such thing as ‘the church’ or Gentile believers…
Either you are Israel, or you are not Israel.
Read Romans 11 to learn about being grafted into Israel.
But, wait, what does Jesus say about this??? Because He is my authority…
Matthew 15:24 (direct quote of Messiah)
But He answered and said, “I was not sent except to the lost sheep of the house of Israel.”
If you’ve been taught that you are part of the New Covenant, how is it described in scripture?
Hebrews 8:8
“Behold, the days are coming, says the Lord, when I will make a new covenant with the house of Israel and with the house of Judah.”
Sorry, but Gentiles are not mentioned. Either you are Israel or you are not…
And if you are Israel, then the Torah law applies to you, because God said it was for all generations, never-ending, perpetual.
But, the law was done away with…
Again, a direct quote from Messiah:
Matthew 5:18-19
For assuredly, I say to you, till heaven and earth pass away, one jot or one tittle will by no means pass from the law till all is fulfilled. 19 Whoever therefore breaks one of the least of these commandments, and teaches men so, shall be called least in the kingdom of heaven; but whoever does and teaches them, he shall be called great in the kingdom of heaven.
But, I still believe the law was done away with…
Let’s go back to the New Covenant again…
Hebrews 8:10
For this is the covenant that I will make with the house of Israel after those days, says the Lord: I will put My laws in their mind and write them on their hearts; and I will be their God, and they shall be My people.
Again, Jesus says you are Israel, and He says the laws are even closer to us, in our mind and in our heart. The laws are not done away with or far from us.
Does this match what your church teaches?
Will you believe Jesus, or your pastor?
If you ask questions and your pastor uses the writings of Paul to answer your questions, be aware of this warning in scripture:
2Peter 3:14-18
14 Therefore, beloved, looking forward to these things, be diligent to be found by Him in peace, without spot and blameless; 15 and consider that the longsuffering of our Lord is salvation—as also our beloved brother Paul, according to the wisdom given to him, has written to you, 16 as also in all his epistles, speaking in them of these things, in which are some things hard to understand, which untaught and unstable people twist to their own destruction, as they do also the rest of the Scriptures.
17 You therefore, beloved, since you know this beforehand, beware lest you also fall from your own steadfastness, being led away with the error of the wicked; 18 but grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
To Him be the glory both now and forever. Amen.
